The first generation Smart Forfour (body code 454 / W454, shared platform with Mitsubishi Colt, 01.2004–06.2007) uses the classic J-Hook 9x3 mm attachment. The metal arms are completely exposed above the hood line — you can manually lift them to a vertical position directly by hand, at any time, without any command from inside and without the risk of touching the hood.
