How are the wipers installed?

On most BMW models, the wiper arms are blocked by the edge of the hood. The correct procedure to activate the service position:

• Turn on the ignition (press the Start button without the brake) and turn it off immediately.
• Immediately after turning off, push the lever up (past the point of resistance) and hold it for 3-5 seconds.
• The wipers move to the vertical position.
• New models (G20, G30): hold the lever down until the arms stop vertically.
• To return: turn on the ignition and briefly press the lever down.
