Dacia Spring Wipers – Specifications and Complete Guide

For the Dacia Spring, the standard size for the front windshield wiper is 550 mm (22"). Although the car has a single arm for the windshield, you can choose between the original variant, Flat (frameless) models, or Hybrid ones.

Specifications

  • Front Wiper (Windshield): 600 mm (23") — an upgrade from the original 550 mm, eliminating the uncleaned area at the top of the windshield.
  • Rear Wiper (Rear Window): 250 mm (10")

Why is the front wiper in the kit on the website 600 mm if the original is smaller?

The original 550 mm wiper leaves a fairly large uncleaned portion at the top. The 600 mm variant (in TeamCar kits) is a popular upgrade because it covers almost the entire windshield without hitting the pillar's edge.

How do you change the rear wiper?

Unlike the front, where you have a "hook" type arm, the rear one requires a little attention:

  • Lift the arm, rotate the 250 mm blade 90° from the arm.
  • Gently pull outwards.
  • Caution: Do not let the metal arm fall onto the rear window without the blade — the spring is strong and can crack the glass.

How often should they be changed?

For the Dacia Spring, being a city car, the rubber wears out quickly from dust and sun. It is recommended:

  • Annually — typically in autumn, before the rainy/cold season.
  • Immediately when they leave thin streaks of water or make a jerky (squeaking) sound.

Hybrid vs. Flat – what to choose?

  • Hybrid: Massive "factory-like" appearance, rigid, excellent in winter — the structure protects the blade from ice.
  • Flat: Quiet at high speeds, discreet profile, modern appearance.

Quick Maintenance

If the wipers are new but leave streaks, wipe the edge of the rubber blade with a damp cloth. Often, a film of dirt/wax accumulates, preventing perfect cleaning.
