The Hyundai Santa Fe II (body code CM) moved Hyundai towards the premium-mass-market segment, offering a 7-seat option for the first time. The rear floor is remarkably flat — the central tunnel is almost absent, and the high center console often integrates a cool box under the armrest. The accelerator pedal is suspended, and under the front seats there are complex wirings for electric adjustments, heating, and side airbag sensors integrated into the backrest.
